“ We drove past and decided to give our shot here knowing there’s every chance we won’t get a seat. Luck on our side, the owner was kind enough to give us a semi private space right after they open for dinner. The one and only thing you need to try here is the Kumano beef. This beef is perfect on the bbq and the secret sauce they have is the perfect accompaniment for the beef. We also tried the chicken and pork but nothing compares to beef. Most of the menu is in Japanese but the owner can speak a little English. Once the raw ingredients arrive, you cook it on a grill to your liking. There’s heaps of locals coming for dinner so it’s a great sign of its popularity. It was an honour to experience Kumano beef, would definitely come back! You can pay using cash or credit card. ”

“ We stayed in the hotel next to this restaurant, so it was quite convenient to access. As the only authorized Kumano Beef Yakiniku restaurant in Shingu area, it was nearly full even at late night, which we need to wait for some time before the staff can clear up a private room for us. Tried general Japanese beef and local Kumano beef, the Kumano beef is way more strong in taste comparing the same part but not very fatty in texture even it shows more fat marble on the meat. The seasoning is quite good so you do not need to dip in the yakiniku sauce provided. Also the drinks offering is quite OK with quite many alcoholic selection. It should be a must tried restaurant if staying overnight in Shingu. ”

“ Went alone and didn’t feel welcomed by the boss. He asked his staff to take my order. Had the Kumano beef and pork. Tender and tasty but portion was very small. Only a few pieces per order. Paid ¥2850 for the above. It seemed like they were more interested in entertaining locals and groups. I left straight after I finished my two plates of meat. ”
